BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide consisting of 15 amino acids (Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val). It is a partial sequence of a dynamic protective compound discovered in human gastric juice. BPC-157 is characterized by its high stability in gastric environments and its role as a modulator of the nitric oxide (NO) system and growth factor signaling. Research applications include investigations into angiogenesis via VEGFR2 activation, ligament and tendon regeneration, and the cytoprotection of gastrointestinal mucosa.
